We just finished a 9 day stay at Totem Pole RV Park in Petersburg Michigan and really enjoyed our time there. There is easy access to the campground from US 23 using either exit 9 or 13. It sits in a park like setting and is just minutes from Toledo, Ohio or historic Dundee Michigan. That means Cabela's for you outdoor enthusiasts. The owners, Carl and Joyce, work very hard to keep the park clean and well maintained and even though there is a KOA right at exit 9, we recommend that you take the five minute drive to Totem Pole Park. Lauren and I will be going back at the end of August while we put the rest of our belongings in storage.
We wanted to spend some time with our grandsons Jeremiah (14) and Dauris (13) before left so we asked them to stay with us at the campground. We hung out together for 4 days going to the Imagination Station (formerly COSI) in Toledo, then to Greenfield Village and the Detroit Zoo. If you ever find yourself traveling through southeast Michigan, we highly recommend a visit to these places. Greenfield Village and The Henry Ford Museum are on the same grounds so you can easily visit them both, though a day at each would be best. The Detroit Zoo is definitely worth a visit as well and while there you won't want to miss the Dinosauria DinoTrail. The kids will love it as will the kid in you!
